Interface SkillStore

public interface SkillStore
SPI for skill discovery and lookup (TNS-289). The store is the source of truth — agents do NOT keep their own skill cache, because skill content can change at deploy time and a stale cache would silently serve the wrong procedure.

Implementations

  • InMemorySkillStore — programmatic registration; intended for tests and embedded use cases.
  • FileSystemSkillStore — disk-backed; reads the Claude Code-compatible <root>/<skill>/SKILL.md layout.
  • Operators ship custom adapters for classpath / database / enterprise registry backends via the same SPI.

Concurrency

Implementations MUST be safe to call from multiple agent threads — skill lookup happens on the LLM dispatch hot path.

  • Method Details

    • findByName

      Optional<Skill> findByName(String name)
      Look up a skill by its declared name.

    • list

      List<Skill> list()
      Enumerate every registered skill. Used by SkillResolver to rank candidates against a user message and by tooling that needs to render a skill catalog.

    • register

      void register(Skill skill)
      Register or replace a skill. Implementations MAY reject registration (e.g. read-only stores) by throwing UnsupportedOperationException.
